What is ISOC? [Back to Top]
ISOC is the International Series of Champions, Inc. We are a race organization promoting snocross racing on National and Regional levels across the U.S. and Canada.
ISOC is led by John Daniels who ran a cross-country circuit in the 1990s under the same banner. Currently he produces the TV show Sled Head 24/7 and in 2007 was the lead promoter on the $100,000 AMSOIL Triple Crown. Just as the original ISOC did, the snocross circuit will emphasize larger paychecks to the riders and competitive racing for the fans.
Do I have to be an ISOC member to race? [Back to Top]
In order to race an ISOC event, National or Regional, you must be a competition member. We offer an annual competition membership, a 120cc competition membership, a family competition membership, and also a weekend membership (good for one weekend only).
How do I sign up? [Back to Top]
The quickest way is to sign up online through www.isocracing.com.
You may also print out the forms and fax/mail them in (they can be found under "Miscellaneous/Racer Forms"). Be aware that there is an additional $15 fee for choosing this option.
What do I get with my competition membership? [Back to Top]
As a competition member, you will be allowed to race in any ISOC sanctioned event, National and Regional. You will also receive an ISOC membership package (excluding weekend members) that includes:
- A members only hat
- Access to watch the National events LIVE on the ISOC website
- An ISOC membership card that entitles you to 10% off any ISOC merchandise order at the events or online at www.isocracing.com
- Membership to the AMSOIL Preferred Racer Program
- ISOC sticker
- National Race Highlights DVD
- One year subscription to SNOX-X magazine
What is the difference between the National circuit and the Regional circuits? [Back to Top]
The National circuit is run across the country and into Canada and is followed by the “Superteams” as well as Regional racers. They traverse across the country in search of the Points Championship.
The Regional circuits cover the upper midwest. The regional circuits have affiliation with ISOC and offer classes from Junior to Pro level.
How do I know which class to run? [Back to Top]
The classes are related to age, competition level of the driver, and the type of snowmobile you are racing. Check the appropriate tour information page to see what classes are offered.
I’m under 18 years old. Is there anything special I need to know? [Back to Top]
All racers under the age of 18 MUST have a completed original, notarized minor waiver form on file at the National ISOC office. Minor waiver forms can be downloaded from the website under Miscellaneous/Racer Forms. They must be completed and an ORIGINAL mailed to the office along with a copy of your birth certificate. An ISOC membership will not be issued until these papers are turned in.
How do I register for a race? [Back to Top]
Once you have become a Competition member, you may race at any of our affiliated circuits. You can register online at www.isocracing.com under the circuit you wish to run in. Log in using your assigned member ID and password and click on "Race Registration." You may also download the entry forms (found under "Miscellaneous/Racer Forms) and fax/mail them in, but be aware that there is an additional fee for this. There are registration deadlines as things do fill up and a lot of pre-race prep work needs to be done. Be sure to get your entries in early.
After registering, you can log into your racer profile and see what races/classes you are registered for. This will save you a phone call to be sure you are registered.
What kind of equipment do I need to race? [Back to Top]
Safety is a critical part of racing and should be taken very seriously. Body armor, helmets, and shin guards are some of the necessary equipment. Specific safety requirements can be found in the ISOC rulebook.
What kind of rules do I need to know? [Back to Top]
Our rulebook is posted on our site under the resources section. You will need to download the rulebook and follow all the rules set forth in the ISOC rulebook. If you still have questions, you may email our tech director at tech@isocracing.com.
What about sled numbers and bib numbers? [Back to Top]
It is the responsibility of the drivers to have clear, legible numbers that conform to the rules in the ISOC rulebook. If the numbers can’t be read while the sled is moving, you risk not being scored. Be sure to follow the guidelines in the rulebook.
Bib numbers are on a first come, first serve basis. You submit three choices and we will do our best to assign you the one you have requested. There are some guidelines in choosing your bib numbers:
- They must be three digits. (Only pros and some grandfathered semi pros are allowed to run single and double digit. You must get pre-authorization from ISOC for this)
- No numbers starting with zero
- No letters
How does the race weekend run? [Back to Top]
- Registration: Drivers and crew check in before the event (typically on Friday) and receive credentials to get into the facility and pit area. All riders and crew MUST sign a waiver before they are allowed on site.
- Driver Meeting: There is a mandatory drivers meeting given by the race director on race days. The times will be posted on the schedule of events for the weekend.
- Pre-Tech Inspection/ Practice: Before practice begins, there will be a pre-tech inspection that may include sled safety equipment and rider safety gear.
- Staging: Heats will be posted on a board in the staging area to let racers know which race they are in and what is being staged. If for some reason you cannot run your heat, please let the staging officials know.
- Awards: Results should typically be posted within ½ hour after the race. If you have questions regarding these results, please see an ISOC official. Award presentation will be announced.
How do I advance to the next level/class? [Back to Top]
When age permits, you may automatically advance to the next class. If a racer is dominating a class, they may be asked by the race director to advance to the next level even if the next level is above their age group (as long as insurance guidelines permit).
A racer may also submit a Racer Resume (see Racer Forms) and fill out a Class Advancement form (see Racer Forms) one week prior to an event and request that the Race Director watch them for a particular weekend and make a decision based upon watching them race.
My kids want to race the 120 class? [Back to Top]
If your child is racing the 120 class, a 120cc Competition Membership is required ($80). If they are also running a Transition or Junior class, they must purchase an Annual Competition Membership ($135).

There are specific rules that govern the 120 racing. There are two divisions of 120 racing – Stock and Champ. The 120 rules are in our rulebook.
A parent or guardian must attend the races and will be required to sign a different minor waiver form along with their child at racer check in.
I can’t accompany my Minor child to the race. What do I do now? [Back to Top]
If you are unable to attend the event with your child to sign the waivers, you may fill out a Power of Attorney Form (see under Racer Forms), to allow someone else to sign your child in. This form must be signed and notarized prior to the event by the parents and involved parties and presented at driver check in along with identification.
